Don’t wait for an emergency to happen before you sign up for CodeRED, a high-volume, high-speed system for mass emergency notifications. Since 2010, IRWD has kept customers informed in times of water-related emergencies with CodeRED.
Emergencies come in all forms, whether they are fires, floods or earthquakes. Any of these could cause disruptions in water service, so it is best to be prepared.
Customers have the option of receiving voice, email or text messages within an hour of a water-related emergency. For example, if there is a water main break that affects certain neighborhoods, residents of those neighborhoods will be informed of the problem and be given an estimated time for the repairs and any other pertinent information.
