Are you curious about where your water comes from and what happens to it when it goes down the drain? Interested in knowing more about what happens at Irvine Ranch Water District? Wonder no more!
Now is the time to sign up for a free Water Awareness Tour, open to those who live or work within the IRWD service area. As a special treat, the tours will include a visit to the Michelson Water Recycling Plant, which has been under massive expansion since the fall of 2009.
Tour dates are:
- Friday, May 30
- Saturday, May 31
- Saturday, June 7
- Friday, September 12
- Saturday, September 13.
Tours begin promptly at 9 a.m. and conclude approximately 1 p.m. Included is a continental breakfast and lunch.
Visitors will tour our newly expanded Michelson Water Recycling Plant, as well as the San Joaquin Reservoir and San Joaquin Marsh and Wildlife Sanctuary.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable information about the water system, wastewater treatment, recycled water use and conservation tips.
The tours fill up quickly and are first-come, first-served based on the date we receive your reservation. We are unable to accommodate children less than 16 years of age.
