Riparian View Detour Begins October 25

The finishing touches are being completed to the Riparian View detour road that provides access into the San Joaquin Marsh and Wildlife Sanctuary. The detour is scheduled to go into effect on Monday, October 25.

Wet weather had caused a week's delay in implementing the detour.  Beginning Monday, Riparian View will be closed to through traffic from Michelson Drive for approximately one year. Signs have been placed along the route to direct motorists to the marsh. The detour from Campus Drive will be right turn only, both driving onto Riparian View and out of the marsh. An informational kiosk about the detour with maps is located on Riparian View just inside the gate at the Michelson entrance.

The road closure and detour in no way affects access to the marsh and trails, the Audubon House, Visitor's Center, Duck Club and Learning Center.
